Works for keto people. - This is one of the books I would call a Great Book because it is so comprehensive and helpful. I am doing a keto diet, which is working really well, and this little book, easy to put into a pocket, is a fantastic guide. It has a good table of contents and a fine index (I think every book should have an index - so easy to do with today's software). The book lists tons of foods and food components, showing portions, calories, and in grams - fat, saturated fat, carbs, fiber, sugar, and protein. And in mg, sodium, vitamin D, calcium, iron, and potassium. The second section lists popular chain restaurants and their entrees, sides, and desserts. I am amazed by how much is packed into this guide. I look mostly at carbs and fiber (total carbs minus fiber gives net carbs, handy for a keto dieter. I've gone through the book with a highlighter to identify foods and restaurant items that have low enough net carbs. I can see at a glance what works. This book has been a key component to a 10 pound loss in 5 weeks. The only unfortunate part for me is the realization of how many foods at restaurants don't fit keto, and how many foods and components also have too many net carbs. Another downer is the portion size - such as 3 oz for many meats. The book has taught me to look at nutritional tables on food packages. I have now found some keto foods, such as bread, rolls, crunchy snacks, among other things. The keto foods are expensive, but limiting eating out because of few acceptable meals balances the more expensive foods. This book is worth every penny. In case it is not clear, I recommend this book highly. Happy informed eating. Review: compact, tons of foods listed - I needed something I could throw in my purse when needed or keep on my desk. This little food counter is the perfect size and is chalk full of the nutrition information that I need. I read labels and check food contents constantly and want to be sure that I am getting the most correct information. This little book provides it. The restaurant content is vast as is the number of food listed. Mostly importantly to me is fiber and protein and those numbers are included for thousands of food. This is an excellent resource for nutritional information for me.

A lot of info
There is a lot if information but it is not complete for the brand products listed. An example is Kashi Original which is a wonderful breakfast item with the best nutrition and tasty enough. However, for the several Kashi items listed, Original was left out. Also, it would be helpful if the nutritional items at the top had markers also down the columns.

what is in the food you consume.
I was diagnosed as diabetic on New Year's Eve in the ER. Not exactly what I planned but what was necessary. This book has been very informative and helpful in my journey to learn about food and what I should and should not have. The fiber, carb, and protein count of food is very important to lower your blood sugar and live a much healthy lifestyle. I highly recommend this book to anyone needing food items broke down into carb, fiber, and protein. Very informative. Great book

Provides all of the required information
The book contains a wealth of information necessary for people who need to track calories, protein, and types of food. It is the only book that provides all of the necessary information doctors require from patients tracking their diets. However, the print is really small. We got around this problem with reading glasses and magnifying lenses. Another problem is that the book is not well organized. However, we were able to find exactly what we were searching for by using the index at the back of the book. There is no other resource on the internet that compares to this one. It is well worth the money.

It has just about every food in it!!
This is the best calorie book I ever had. It has just about everything in it. I wasn't sure about all the restaurant information being helpful but it really is. When you start looking at the calories, fat, carbs and protein on all the stuff you been eating it really wakes you up. You really don't need all those diets where you buy their food. You can make great heathy food at home with no special ingredients just counting calories and choosing better options using this book. I can even go out to eat and know what the better options are. Awesome book!!

Highly Recommend if you want to lose weight and maintain a healthy weight
I purchased The Food Counter's Pocket Companion to help me eat the right foods to lose weight. I use the Atkins Low Cal Low Carb Diet modified to suit my tastes. I find this book to be very helpful in making informed choices of the food to eat while on that diet, both the weight losing phase and the maintenance phase.

This shouldn’t really be sold in the uk as it contains mainly American goods
Ok little book for some of the basics, but is more helpful to the American market. A bit disappointing
