It was gear reduced further another 8-1 and it easily spun 120lb of meat for hours and never got hot. The speed controller was very nice unlike others that simply are a adjustable resistor and starve the motor of voltage causing the motor to burn up. This performed great, it has what appears to be a load capacitor on the side and can be adjusted from 1-100% I ended up making my own mounting bracket becuase the one I found after hours of searching was going to take to long to get. The correct bracket for this is LD-180W-370W Review: Good motor. - It's a good motor. I use it to power a sheet metal bead roller. I use sprockets and roller chain to drive the bead roller. One issue is that on slower speed settings the motor jumps when starting but then slows right away to the speed setting. Nothing I can't deal with, just something I've learned to expect. Other than that it's perfect for this application. One other issue was sourcing a 15mm bore #40 sprocket. I ended up boring a 1/2" to 15mm and broaching a metric key way in it.
