Gonicc Secateurs slash costs, not quality! *by D***N on 8 March 2025* I recently got my hands on the Gonicc 8" Professional Secateurs, and for a budget-friendly pair of pruners, they’ve impressed me so far. They seem to do the job pretty well, whether I’m tidying up rose bushes or trimming back lighter branches, they cut through with ease. The blades are sharp, giving clean snips without much effort, and the build feels sturdy in hand, with a solid weight that doesn’t scream “cheap.” Visually, they’ve got a strong resemblance to Felcos, same sleek, ergonomic vibe with a red handle that looks the part. Now, Felcos are the ultimate in my book, nothing beats their precision and durability for serious gardening. But at a fraction of the price, these Goniccs hold their own for casual use. I’ve been using them for pruning tasks around the garden, and they’re decent enough, no complaints about performance on small / medium stems or green wood. That said, I’m not sure how they’ll fare in the long run. The jury’s out on durability, will they stay sharp and solid after a few seasons?
