Those appliances that require $40 replacement filters 3x a year. ) SO I PLUGGED IN THE MACHINE, ran it on high overnight. Woke up the next AM to a full tank of water. The machine beeps 8 times and shuts down when it's full. 22 pints is approx 2.5 gallons. But the tank isn't necessarily 2.5 gallons. Other reviewers have noted this. I'm in a slab built townhouse. Wood Frame. Drywall Ceilings and Walls. Sound is acceptable and barely noticable on the slab level. Similar sound to a bathroom fan or range hood on Low to medium. CONVERSELY , placed on the upper levels you will hear the PULSATING, REVVING BUZZING SOUND similar to a 30 years old window air conditioner. Somewhat of a bummer, as I bought this to keep moisture low upstairs to prevent clothes moths. BUT I also run the Central HVAC fan 24/7. And I'm getting an impressive 5 gallons a day from a 1,200 3 story home. So I'm gonna keep this kitty. I had to move the Dehumidifier back to the slab level. Out of respect for my shared wall neighbors. And also to preserve my sanity trying to sleep to that grading compressor noise. Seriously. Don't run this ON A 2ND FLOOR if you have shared wall neighbors. And don't run this if you have units above or below yours, WITHOUT Concrete Slab Floors.. You'll just drive your neighbors and yourself absolutely insane. (I've lived in airport landing paths and a long Police-EMS corridors . You get used to the sound and barely notice it after a few weeks.
