The Covergirl Simply Ageless Skin Perfector Essence Foundation is a vegan skincare makeup hybrid formulated with 0.5% bakuchiol, a plant-based retinol alternative perfect for sensitive skin, the skin-plumping formula reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and increases skin’s firmness. It also contains tranexamic acid, the potent tone-improving facial essence fades the appearance of existing dark spots. Pigmented capsules blend easily to distribute a sheer, even tint for a radiant bare-skin filter effect with a refreshed skin-like finish. With a clean and vegan formula made up of 98% natural origin ingredients, it has a lightweight, gel texture that provides hydrated skin for up to 24 hours.

Review: Application tricky but once nailed it’s beautiful - This product has a slightly tricky application method but once you use it correctly, it’s beautiful. Because it’s a serum and pigment hybrid encapsulated in pellets, the pellets must burst before applying it to the face/skin. So don’t apply directly to the skin. On the back of the hand or in your palm, use your CLEAN finger or a brush to burst the pellets completely. Then you can dot onto face or pick up with a brush and THEN apply to the skin. The luxury version works exactly the same way. You must do this first. If the pellets are broken up on the face, the application will be patchy. I LOVE this product. It’s amazing on my very mature skin. It does have coverage, more than you might expect because it is buildable. I do find the shade range runs quite light but the shade “light” does have a neutral undertone which is good but also surprising because so many drugstore complexion products run very warm (either very yellow or quite orangey). I find this product identical to the Chanel Water Fresh Tint but it has better coverage. The luxury version is very sheer but the principle of application is the same. I also like that this drugstore version is unscented or at least has no scent I can detect. The luxury product is highly fragranced and that’s off putting for me. As for wear time, it’s hard to say. I live in Florida and in the summertime I sweat like crazy so I have to use a waterproof setting spray. I don’t use powder because I don’t want to dim the radiance I get with this product. You could definitely do a light layer of powder wherever the shine is too much. It also doesn’t sink into fine lines and it minimizes texture too. All in all this was a great purchase. I no longer see the Perfecting Essence on drugstore shelves but found here on desertcart, yay! This isn’t my first purchase of this product. I first bought the shade fair but it was far too pale. Then I forgot about it until I almost bought the Chanel Water Fresh Tint and remembered this dupe was actually better. I highly recommend this product and this review comes from a retired professional makeup artist. I would keep this in my kit if I were still a working artist.
Review: One of the Best Skin Tints at the Drugstore - I’m impressed every time I wear this skin tint. It lasts all day on me, gives a beautiful glow(but not too much for my combo normal-oily skin type), doesn’t settle in lines, and just gives a beautiful overall veil of coverage. You have to break up the pigment beads before applying. I’ve found it best to apply with your fingers then press it in with a brush to blend. You really only need 1-2 pumps. I’m usually a light-medium neutral-olive skin tone in foundations. I got shade Light Neutral and it’s a touch too light for me, but I can make it work with bronzer. I like it enough to get a darker shade (medium olive) to mix. It has become my favorite everyday base!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ From hate to love

Didn't like this at all at first. Didn't blend, showed white in pores and looked like sitting on skin. Though it was the formula but no, just the color. The light neutral has a very strong white cast. I usually have good match with lighter ends of the spectrum but not this one. Glad it gave it another try and got light/medium. Love this. Blends seamlessly with both fingers or brush. Leaves nice glow and though almost undetectable somehow does offer some light coverage. My skin leans towards somewhat oily and I can use this even without setting powder. Hooray! If only it had sunscreen it would be the holy Grail for me.
