My family has been adding borax, in addition to our regular laundry detergent, which has helped on reducing the awful smell that front load washers develop - now that smell is nearly gone from the laundry (highly recommend not ever owning a front load washer). We simply add a scoop to the washer basin with each load and proceed as a normal cycle - works well with delicate items too!

Purchased the gallon size to save money, best value for the amount!
