It holds until you want to take them out, then they come out easily. I was worried about getting the adhesive on things - either squishing out of the holders or dropping some on my counter. But It comes off super easy - you just kind of roll it off and it leaves no residue. It's looks and feels like a cross between rubber cement and old-fashioned paste that we used (a looong time ago) in grade school. It works great and the 2 oz. tub will last for years.
