One comment said only miles. I want to measure Km on maps. Is this suitable for KM? Thanks.** A: I haven't used mine for a while but from what I can remember, you can toggle between different measurements ie feet, yards, metres etc. I use mine for measuring travel distances on floor plans in relation to fire legislation and the plans I use are drawn using metric measurements. Hope that helps. But having used it for over a year now, I think it's amazing. When you have a quick job to price, this makes the take offs so easy and quick, you wonder how you managed before. I still use a trusty scale ruler for some things, but this little tool does most of the work. The ability to set your own scale takes all the problems out of odd scaled drawings or drawings printed the wrong size. As long as you know one dimension, you can measure the rest. I wouldn't recommend it for accurate works, but for tender quantities it is brilliant. If you don't have a scale:ruler or the drawing has been produced to an uncommon scale, this is no problem for this baby. You can set your own scale and measure out travel distances in fire plans, total square meterage, all sorts. It's so much quicker than using a ruler and it adds it all up for you.
