It has helped me get to know my camera better along with explaining more than the Owners Manual that Sony wants to supply with the camera.My cover has the Sony a99ii photo on it. This is quite possibly a fatal flaw. Still, I purchased a copy (Sony A99ii Fast Track); a $40 risk. It'll be my 3rd "Bush Guide", and I've really appreciated their value. But... I use these books (still) as a references. And a reference without an index ? I'm prepared for buyers remorse. I expect to end up using free Internet resources instead. I'm writing this prior to receiving the book (July '19). Soon, I'll measure its value, and I'll re-edit or confirm this review with an update, probably in about 2-3 weeks. I read the description stating that an index would increase the price $10/book. With a 30-year background in publishing - admittedly, not in production - I find this claim to be not credible, unless the sales are anticipated to be very small. Finally, self publishing is typically a big negative for a technical reference. Has Bush sacrificed reputation for profit ? We'll see.August 2019 (additional comments) Ok, I've been using the Busch's A99ii guide, sans index, for a while now. No index is not a fatal flaw. It is a negative, and it absence does require more effort and patience. Fortunately the A99ii is pretty similar to the A77ii, and I've become familiar with that model. If this was a true 1st-time introduction to these cameras I think I'd be more irritated. When I do need to search for A99 info it takes several steps - read here / read there. But the au does make comments in the text that helps ("further discussion available in Chapter ....") And honestly, the earlier books' indices weren't all that great. So,.....I guess I do recommend this guide, and I'm giving it another star.
