**Q: How good is to included lens ? Is it good for street photography and portraits ?**
A: You're better off purchasing the camera in the Body Only configuration and buying a prime lens separately (ie: 16mm, 24mm, 35mm, 50mm f1.8). Any of those will be better options than the kit lenses. They let in more light and you'll end up with sharper photos. The 50mm is only $169. And the others you'll only end up spending just a little more than the Kit configuration and you'll have a much, much better lens. You learn to zoom with your feet. You'll get a much better photo than you would using a variable aperature zoom lens.

**Q: What accessories does the r8 (body only) come with?**
A: Contents of box: body, cap, battery and wall charger.

**Q: anyone else having difficulty getting the lens to retract when shutting off? Mine is staying fully extended.. seems wrong.**
A: No

**Q: Can you turn off the evf?  And use it like an older slr?**
A: If you want to use only the Back LCD you can, but if you’re asking for an OVF there answer is no, it doesn’t have a mirror to reflect to the viewfinder

What an amazing buy , up to now I have been a Nikon and a Fuji shooter but after handling a friend of mines I had to have one .This arrived with a kit lens but don’t be fooled it is a very good lens not some cheap glass thrown in .The camera itself is a full frame and slightly in the small side or compact and easy to hold and use if you don’t have oversized hands .Everything really is a joy to use except the autofocus system which I hope I will get used to .Battery life is very good not stupendous but acceptable hence the purchase of these cheaper but very good batteries . The cost of two of these is still half of the Canon batteries so I intend to get another pair for when I need the camer for 8 hours .Colours are vibrant and the menu system is fairly easy to navigateLots of features here that are not on my other cameras at double the price .I have not seen one bad review and don’t expect to .Great value for an entry level FF camera with lens
