I do not do any video work, so I cannot speak to how well it would perform, but I would expect very well. The drive is responsive and fast, and (fortunately) I have not suffered from any connection issues. For a “portable” ssd it is on the chunky side, definitely not pocketable, but when sitting on my desk or a hotel bedside table I wouldn’t consider it oversized or inconvenient. I do think it is a bit too pricey, but currently, the options for an 8tb external ssd are limited. The overall device footprint is a smaller size making this an easy plug/play/forget item. Stored items boot quickly from this drive too. The drive is a bit on the warmer side while I’m use but when the mac mini is placed in sleep mode standby temps are greatly reduced.
