It was difficult to get a standard 4 inch vent through the hole we bored. To have it work we inserted a sleeve through the wall made from sheet metal that was probably a little smaller than 4 inches and attached a 4 inch vent pipe on the inside and an outdoor vent on the other. Tried it on concrete and it went through that much much quicker, so it was definitely the hardness and density of the old brick that was the challenge. Meant to be run in rotary only mode, not in hammer mode, i tried hammer mode very briefly just to see if it changed at all, it made zero difference on drilling speed but it was apparent it was rounding off the diamond cutting tips much faster, so stick to rotary only no hammering.It was easy to use, just a lot of work due to the brick i was fighting. I have drilled through this brick previously with SDS bits and its just as slow of a progress, its like drilling hard glass more then masonry, they just don't make em like they used to!Overall a good value for the money, very little wear after the first use, should make multiple holes before its worn out, at the cost it seems expensive but try hiring someone to make the hole, its cheap then. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worked good for my project *by on Reviewed in the United States May 5, 2026* I purchased 2 cores to drill (2) 1.75 and (1) 2.75 hole thru CMU for my project. Once I checked them in my drill, I noticed a lot of wobble between the drill bit and core. I built a small fixture to help support the bit and keep me level during the process. I also had a helper guide me to stay square. Getting started was a little shaky, but even pressure and speed allowed the drill to create a groove. I'm very pleased with the outcome. Not sure these are good enough for industrial use, but they worked fine for me.
