Had to get use to having this in my mouth but the transition was to bad. To anyone that suffers with any type of breathing issues I would try it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for the price *by A***R on July 7, 2024* I bought this for CrossFit workouts and to strengthen my lung capacity. I wanted to try this before spending the money on a training mask and will probably just stay with this.Pros- Cheap. Easy to clean unlike a mask that’ll get nasty and sweaty. Easy to use, a few here stated the instructions weren’t that great. You literally put it in and turn the dial until you reach the resistance you want…. Not claustrophobic like a mask could be, if you get short of breath just take it out, where some may panic having a mask strapped to their face.Cons- it does stick out a little so it could get in the way of certain exercises. Obviously unlike a mask, it doesn’t isolate the nose so I had to dial it down almost closed to get really good resistance.I’d say for the money and ease of use it’s worth it so far. It took a day or so before I got used to it enough to take it seriously. It does seem a bit gimmicky, but it still has its uses.Now that I'm more focused, I find it a helpful device. I plan to use it only for about 30 breaths daily, with the primary goal of helping to shift my focus to deeper breathing. Breathing tends to be forgotten during a busy day, and a small amount of work can help. Even with that minimal use, I recommend it for anyone with respiratory issues or seeking the various health benefits of controlled deep breathing.I've studied pranayama, qigong, and several other breath training methods. Building a more powerful, deep, controlled breathing can help your life in many ways. For example, a recent study showed that six weeks of breath training could lower blood pressure by nine mmHg. These results came from only 30 breaths per day on the trainer. Perhaps I'm biased because I have other training, but just a few breaths with the trainer suffice to stimulate my diaphragm into deeper breathing. Beyond that, I find that the resistance provided by the device doesn't help as much as natural deep breathing.Breath training can also benefit athletic performance. I'm not sure how to use this device properly for those purposes. I would consult a trainer if I were interested in holding my breath for long periods or other athletic endeavors.
