The old Intermatic was mounted on the side of the house and I had never realized how it created a buzzing noise in both rooms on that side of the house. I had doubts about it being fairly lightweight but it is housed in a sturdy, well-made metal rain-tite enclosure and installed easily. The electrical connectors are robust enough for #8 wire and the knock-outs match standard spacing, although they were not punch pressed very well so I had to use a hole saw on one knockout. A minor inconvenience given the reasonable price and solid quality. It is not the same size as the older, traditional timer unit but worked for me. My only complaint is that the latch fit poorly (too tight, impossible to unlatch by hand) and had to be slightly filed to make opening the case practical. Some report the instructions aren't clear but I didn't find that to be the case.
