This one actually works like it should. Detects and maintains communication with the vents. I have no idea what was wrong with the original device; there was no obvious signs of damage or loose connections. -------------------- Original review: Junk. I don't know if the pucks work any better but this thing is garbage. It cannot detect or communicate with a vent unless it's literally within 5 ft.
