When I found this I snapped it up. I had concerns because some of the other reviews, so on arrival I immediately tried it out. Solid fuel tabs, alcohol, propane, butane, wood, it took them all in stride. The aluminum is thinner than some of my other mess kits, but it is thick enough. This is a solid unit. It fits nicely in my backpack and is priced right. Just enough space inside to pack my victuals for the weekend. Happy with my purchase. Review: Great cook kit for one person - I just received this yesterday and have not gotten to use it out in the field yet. I have played with it at home. You need to keep things moving in the pan. Due to its shape the ends are not over the heat when using a backpacking type of stove. I used a sprit burner to cook 2 strips of bacon then 2 eggs in the frying pan for breakfast. No issues. I cooked a meat sauce in the frying pan and pasta in the main pot using a butane stove. It worked like every other aluminum pan. Kept a low heat and nothing burned. The pans heat and cool off quickly. Good for cleanup which was easy. Major advantage over the bottle\pot sets you have a frying pan. It's like the Swedish M40's little buddy. Its half the size. It's aluminum so its lighter. It's big enough that there is plenty of room to hold enough food for one person and have space to cook. You also get a steaming pan for more options. I would recommend it. ## Features - WW2 camping mess kit, perfect for solo camping. It includes frying pan, steamer, hanging pot-a complete set of backpacking cookware. Fry, cook, steam, and stir-fry to create a lavish camping meal. It comes with a handle, making it convenient to hold while cooking. - This backpacking mess kit allows you to cook several dishes at once, which is very efficient. It has two layers: the bottom pot heats up to boil water or make soup, allowing steam to pass through the gap in the middle layer. The middle layer can steam rice, seafood, egg custard, steamed buns, dumplings, sweet potatoes, corn, and more. The bottom pot can also cook rice, while the upper layer can heat curry or other prepackaged dishes and be used for steaming as well. - After cooking, the mess tin can be very hot. With this handle connection, even without a table, you can hold it while eating on one side and drinking soup on the other. - This camp mess kit has exceptional storage capacity and adaptability. Despite its compact size, this tactical camp cookware set can accommodate a variety of camping gear. All info in Chinese. *by I***E on October 23, 2024* This item is okay. The box & the user insert are all entirely in Chinese. If they're going to sell items in America they could at least*try* some English. ## Frequently Bought Together - TIYASTUN 1.1L Aluminum Camping Cookware Set Mess Kit for Camping 1 Person Camp Cooking Set Cooking Kit Backpacking Cooking Set Military Mess Kit Camping Cooking Set Mess Tin - 2Pcs Detachable Camping Utensils Cutlery Set, Caudblor Portable 4 in 1 Stainless Steel Travel Utensil, Foldable Knife Fork Spoon Bottle Opener, Multi Function Eating Flatware Tableware(Green Black) - Amazon Basics Sleeping Bag for Adults, Mummy Style, Cold Weather, Olive Green --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.at/products/643155815-camping-cookware-mess-kit-1-1l-black](https://www.desertcart.at/products/643155815-camping-cookware-mess-kit-1-1l-black) --- *Product available on Desertcart Austria* *Store origin: AT* *Last updated: 2026-10-26*
