Branded as part of the Delta Force series, the game is actually a bit more action packed than earlier entries in the franchise, and frankly, it's all the better for it. Not a million miles away from Medal of Honor in its approach, it offers a series of missions that require a healthy cocktail of brainpower and firepower to complete. Various vehicles are brought into play from time to time, and these add a nice touch of variety. What Black Hawk Down does very well indeed is to set a relentless pace and create an utterly engrossing game world. Both on the graphical and audio side of things, it excels, and when you're trapped in the middle of a hostile situation and completely surrounded, it really does get the heart pumping. The action, particularly when it hits full throttle, is supremely enjoyable, and is sure to be enjoyed by fans of the genre. The minus column? Well, there are niggly flaws here and there. The AI, for instance, is a little random, and too often you find yourself beaten through no fault of your own. Long before BHD's release the community was putting together a wishlist of ideas and this game catered for many of them and was an improvement in the Delta Force series.It has great graphics, a good weapon balance, grass etc however it still lacked in many areas. It is still very buggy despite all the updates, the single player missions still aren't dynamic and the AI is as dreadful as always. The single player missions are much more interesting than previous games but still doesn't feel as immersive as RTCW/MOHAA and so on.The cheater problem has been fought and they're doing a good job this time around which is a credit to Novalogic.
