The Wild Unknown Tarot Deck and Guidebook

Such a beautiful and poweful deck! I'm in love with it. This deck does away with the traditional imagery and replaces it with the wonderful symbolism of nature. I believe this has helped add numerous layers and possibilities to the reading. This deck is great for beginners. Please don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Yes, you do need to put in more effort to understand what the cards say, because this deck is more symbolic and intuitive than others. Plus, some of the cards are pip cards. But once you're connected with your cards, you'll have no problem at all. I'm new at tarot and this deck has been giving me excellent and accurate readings. So go ahead and pick this up. I wish you the best on your spiritual journey.

Such a beautiful deck if you have a connection with wildlife. This was my first tarot deck, my learning deck. After having spent months with this deck, I can wholeheartedly say it is phenomenal! The readings I get with it are to the point and pretty direct. Also, the fact that there are no humans in it means that there is no feeling of not being represented as is the case with most of the decks available in the market. I would highly recommend this deck, even to beginners. If you're thinking about it, just go for it. So worth it! Kim Krans is a genius ❤️

It's a beautiful deck. Mostly Black and white and few slightly coloured drawings. Initially it feels like an intense deck, but for me it has a more of the soft flowy, nurturing Divine feminine energy. The card stock is good. Feels sticky in the beginning. One needs to break- in to the cards, which happens with constant use and shuffling. The guide book isn't elaborate, but I find it sufficient. There are no reversals given in the book because the author feels that one should get well versed with the upright meanings before delving into reversals. She also says it's not really important to work reversals. I am quite happy with the deck and the book. And do not find it a challenge to work with it. I would definitely recommend it if you feel connected to nature and animal spirits and are ok with not very scenic decks.

I started out by taking each card out and observe it deeply and that way they really got connected to me. After that it gives prefect readings. Only thing is that the guidebook does not give reverse reading meanings so those who are into reverse readings they'll have to figure it out on your own. Also the description is very short. But overall Beautiful and handy deck. Seems like I'm going to use it regularly. Loved the art, it's deep yet simplistic.

Its an amazing deck. I started my Tarot journey on this deck, though a little hard to read, they give a very deep insight into what's going on. The book is also helpful with the short brief explainations. Work on your intuition so you don't have to depend on the book, since the cards speak very loudly. Absolutely love this.

Great Deck Has a tentative energy and energy isnt fixed regarding the cards. So yeah it depend on you how you understand them. the deck I got takes up a lot of energy.

I have been using different tarot set, got this one - it has good description, the art work is very beautiful. The packaging is beautiful, the black cover gives it a very mystic real-time it's a perspective lot of people might find it very depressing but if you have an open mind those cards add contrast with the colour. Overall quality is very good . Worth the buy !

IN GENERAL : Absolutely stunning deck , it catches energies really fast and the artwork is beyond brilliant. This deck will make a great addition to your collection SPECIFICS : The cards are perfectly sized and smooth , in the beginning they may be difficult to spread as it tends to stick each other but over time it gets better and a little bit of baby powder sprinkled in between will keep them easy to glide. The illustrations are printed well . The deck on the whole is sized very well . The artwork seems to provide an interesting perspective of the cards while not losing the essence of it .

Ho acquistato questo mazzo di carte attratta dal prezzo particolarmente scontato. Immagino di aver fatto un vero affarone! La confezione è curata nei dettagli e si presenta molto bene: cellophane, copri cofanetto, cofanetto, libro, box e carte. Sono tarocchi particolari; ho colto subito il fascino delle immagini. Non immediatamente comprensibili, l' intuizione può portare fuori strada se non si è un po' esperti. Il libro allegato è grazioso, spiega quello che c' è da sapere, il resto è nelle mani della sensibilità di chi legge per avere una interpretazione veramente efficace. La grafica accattivante tra bianco-neri e colore rende originale il mazzo. Le carte sono opache e piuttosto sottili ed è molto facile mescolarle. Pensavo di tenerle nella mia collezione personale ma sarebbe un peccato non utilizzarle. Per la qualità delle carte ovviamente solo il tempo può dare il responso più giusto. A mio parere l'impressione è che non deluderanno.

The Wild Unknown Tarot cards excel on many levels. Buying Tarot cards without first holding them in your hand is a risk as things do not always arrive as they seem. I’m hoping this review will help. Traditional sized cards are made from a smooth, flexible laminate and boxed with their well-planned guidebook in a beautiful package. Mid priced and high in quality, if you’re buying “the one deck,” purchasing a gift or collecting it is an excellent choice. There are many levels on which to become attracted to Divination cards and just as many reasons. This deck is rich in archetypes and symbolic imagery; hand calls on integrating a wide array of world sources. If you’re a beginner and would like to develop your skill with symbolic interpretation, another deck may serve you better; the Rider/Waite or Marseille Tarots are more consistent. On the other hand if you are looking for an intuitive and rich interplay of emblematic imagery Krans’ will draw you deeply into intrigue and mystery. The Major Arcana, 22 cards that hold sway over the suit cards, is developed in such a way that they soften some of the original archetypal focus. For example, Death in the earliest examples of Tarot is emblematic of the Grim Reaper. Krans image of a departed bird is gentler. Like the former, it calls for change and clearing, but it doesn’t evoke a foreboding of divine combat, largely a Judeo/Christian concept, which emphasizes a deep contrast between life and death. Hers takes on an indigenous lilt with a portrayal of cyclical time, and nature as deity. She keeps the traditional elemental symbolism in the Minor Arcana but includes specific animal icons. As with her Major Arcana, Krans does not employ human representation leaving out the impact afforded by body language and gender, powerful aspects in traditional Tarot. Animal symbolism such as in the Devil/Goat and the Chariot/Horse are consistent, although the converging forces lack physicality to go along with their materialistic and spiritual vitality. Krans replaces the page, or Knave of the court with a daughter, turning the court into a family, this creates a more equal court. I find The Wild Unknown to be a beautiful and well-presented addition to the Tarot tradition, philosophically and artistically, despite what I have indicated as potential challenges with symbolism. I prefer to approach the Tarot for intuitive self-guidance as well as symbolist complexity. I find Krans’ imagery to be particularly compelling for journeying and dreaming as well as gleaning psychological and spiritual insight. This is not my only deck and as a reader I see the benefit of having several to work with, but currently it is my favorite, and I spend a lot of time studying it.

So pleased I bought this deck, it is stunning, and whilst I know everyone has different decks that work best for them, this is definitely mine, intuitive and such a joy to work with. If you are very new to tarot it's worth noting that this is strictly speaking not a 'traditional deck' (which I actually like it even more for) and the beautiful, naturally inspired, evocative artwork, is 'pared down' imagery wise and so doesn't give the new reader as many visual clues as say, the Rider Waite deck. Again though, I have to say this only makes me love it more, its like reading cards through a dream and makes it even more possible to connect with that side of yourself. The 'guidebook' is beautifully put together too, with descriptions done in a very sympathetic way to the cards themselves, ie pared down, evocative and dreamlike. So, again, if you need/want a wider, more 'in depth' and comprehensive understanding of the cards, read around to increase your knowledge whilst this deck helps you tap into and hone your own intuition and interpretation. I am a collector of decks (moon garden, ancient egyptian, Japanese, herb, everyday, wooden and even kawaii!) but this deck is my go too and my favourite of them all.
