Review: Requires a Windows Admin Account to run - For those having problems running this game, this is what I found out using Windows 11: - Requires the free EA app to be downloaded and installed (previously Origin). - Requires a free EA account (previously Origin). - Game can be activated (code redeemed) downloaded and installed from the EA app. - Requires admin account / admin permission to work. - Will NOT launch from the EA app, even when using an admin account. - Will launch using a desktop shortcut to the game (ClientLauncherG.exe), when using an admin account. And now for a quick review of the game: It brings back a lot of fond memories as I really enjoyed the originals back in the 90s. The upgraded graphics and audio are well done. It does not fully support a super ultra wide screen ratio (21:9) monitor as the game missions are in normal ratio (4:3). The game mechanics are not really much improved, and the old AI bugs have not been fixed.
Review: Command & Conquer Remastered Collection - Excellent! - Further Update 20/11/2023 Amazingly, I am still not able to get this Game to work, because of the still dreadful EA App. That still refuses to Install, and crashes every time, presenting me with an annoying message asking if I would like to let the Droids know. I am not alone, just visit the EA Forum, and it is jam packed with messages from people either unable to get anywhere with the EA App, or having major Game problems if they do manage to get the EA App to Install. The most amazing thing is that EA are still in business. C&C Remastered is a great game, but I cannot now run it. Yes, I have tried everything, with the sole exception of running a 3rd party crack which is seldom a wise move, as one never knows what else that will come with. But some work, and allow the old Origin Login to keep working, that's if you are prepared to take that risk. New Important Update 15/02/2022 Sadly, it's back to 1 Star, because EA have again re-launched their appalling EA App, and it's as broken as it was at the end of 2022, when it stopped people from being able to use the Origin Login to play what is otherwise an excellent Game. It seems to be the same EA App, and all they have done is re-launch a broken App. I still rate the Game 5 Stars but, at the moment, I cannot access it, because every time I launch it, the usual Origin Login appears, then an annoying forced upgrade to a new EA App appears, and that disables all of the Origin menus. Worse, the EA App then always fails to install, and always demands that it is installed when ever one tries to fire up the game. So, please regard this as constructive criticism, the Game itself is absolutely superb, so gets 5 Stars, but because I cannot now use it, I have to mark it down to 1 Star, which is appropriate under these circumstances. Yes, I have tried installing the EA App from a download, and that doesn't work either, and on different PCs. Important Update 17/12/2022 I re-scored this back to 5 Stars, because Electronic Arts (AKA Origin) have pulled the forced upgrade from the Origin Login, to a new EA App. The new EA App was a complete disaster, the upgrade failed, and there was no workaround. However, they have listened to complaints it seems, and have now postponed the EA App upgrade until they fix it. I am again able to access this via the Origin Login, which has always worked fine. Hopefully they will now hold fire on the EA App upgrade until it has been properly tested before a later deployment. If anything changes, I will update again. My original Review is below, and still applies. Better than the original, and runs fine on Windows 10 Pro 64bit at Full HD 1920x1024. I gather it can scale up to 4K which would be even better. You do need to set up an Account with Origin (AKA EA Electronic Arts), which is easy and the Security is not really an issue if sensible. This is no worse than any other similar site. If concerned, as I am automatically, I just gave them a temporary email. I have a Server, so can create these at will, but it is very easy to set up Free email Accounts so, I would advise everyone to set up at least a couple of throw away emails just for things like this. By that I mean an email address that is not your main one, such that, if it gets sent anything you don't like, then you can delete it and the problem is solved. This is a wise policy anyway, and if you have lots of them, you can tell straight away if the location the email is linked to has been hacked, so this strategy can be handy to help conclusively spot when this happens. Never give your main email out other than to those who you know, and know you can trust. The Game is great, exactly how I remember it from a decade or three ago. Runs much better, and the Graphics in the Game are superb. Audio was also fine, or was through my Bose Headphones. I don't think the Game needs a huge amount of horsepower. For reference I loaded it onto an INTEL i7 6-Core with 32GB RAM and SSD Drives, but that's almost certainly overkill, the original ran fine on a machine with, I think, 1GB RAM, or possibly less. But as it now runs on Windows 10, if your machine runs Windows 10, then its specifications are likely to be fine to run this Game on that basis alone. I had absolutely no issues getting it up, the Game Software Code is on your desertcart Order, and when you have an Origin EA Account Setup, the hardest part was to find the REDEEM CODE bit but, once found, enter the Code, and it's easy from there. The historical age of this Game is not entirely hidden, such as the videos between Games are low resolution, and the Game could not seem to use a Second Monitor, or even allow my mouse to stray over to the Second Monitor whilst the Game is running but, that may be a Setting I have overlooked. I will see if I can get that working, and will update if so. One Xmas years and years ago, I gave myself a sore head, double vision, cold sweats and hallucinations playing this 24 hours solid for a few days but, in mitigation, I just had to nail the baddies! Shame not to. However, my wife gave me a sound telling off so, it has taken me decades to pluck up the marital courage to sneak this back onto another machine! Indeed, I must have the original Game somewhere, but I doubt that would now work on any later Machines...hence this excellent Remastered version that solves that puzzle. Just hope I don't get caught wasting my time playing Games! That's the tricky bit. 09/04/2022 Update! Still enjoying this, have completed both main Games, Allied and Russian, and keep re-playing the final Russian 14th Mission, the assault on Moscow. Just for my own enjoyment, I like to explore different ways to win that one, not so much fast, but so I end up with a highly organised base, a second captured base at the bottom, and then a clinical attack on the main base to capture what I can without heavy losses to my own forces. Beware that no matter what you do, after a certain time a nuke strike will be made on your own base, or second base, and that will try and take out as much as it can. So build your base so as not to keep too many eggs in one close nest! The Skirmish Options are also another huge waste of my free time, in a good way! These are very enjoyable, and some of the larger ones can take a couple of hours to complete, and can be re-played many times to explore new ways to win. There is a lot of depth to this, and it has kept me entertained when I want to chill out and relax. I am always happy to go back and re-play some of the better and bigger missions, and many of the Skirmish games. I am still getting told off for playing games at my age but, shame not to really!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: A few bad reviews, is this because of the deployment of the game or actual gameplay?**
A: Once everything is set up it's all good. Game plays exactly how it should. Just a bit frustrating initially :)

**Q: I received this as a gift and it downloaded fine but when tried to play i get error message. how do i proceed? item says not refundable!**
A: The game worked fine with the Origin App However, you are now forced to upgrade to the EA app which renders this game unplayable. EA is aware of this problem but still they continue to force all users into using the EA app that does not work.

**Q: Does this edition have both generals and zero hour**
A: No, it's a re-working of the original version that was all the rage a decade or two ago. So it includes just the Allied and Soviet Campaigns, and a large bunch of Skirmish options for each. That said, it's very well done, the in-game graphics resolution is very sharp, and it runs fine on Windows 10 Pro 64 bit. If you enjoyed the original version, you will love this enhanced version that has been brought up to date for later Operating Systems and Hardware.

**Q: How do you receive your order? is it an email? i ordered 6th february 🤷‍♀️ iv no idea where my order is?**
A: You get an email with a download link

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The game keeps cutting out

I've played a few missions now but the game decides to minimise randomly and then cuts out.
