Consider length, material, hardware, and handheld vs. hands-free styles. Match your gear to the activity: use a traffic handle for control in crowds or a bungee leash for extra room while running with your dog. **Q: Is there a different type of leash to use if my dog pulls?** A: While a slip lead can offer temporary discouragement for pullers, the right leash-and-harness system is key. Pair your lead with a front-clip harness to redirect momentum, or use a shorter leash with a traffic handle for closer control. **Q: Should dogs be on leash?** A: Leash laws vary by location. Most cities require a leash (often 6ft max) within city limits, while trail rules change by region or season. Always check local regulations and carry a leash even in off-leash areas to ensure safety and compliance. **Q: Can I use a Ruffwear leash for running?** A: Yes! For running, look for a leash with a bungee core to absorb shock or a waist-worn option for a hands-free stride. This prevents jarring movements for both you and your dog, making high-output activities smoother and more comfortable. **Q: What is the benefit of a hands-free dog leash?** A: Hands-free leashes allow for a natural arm swing while hiking or running and keep your hands free for treats or training. Many of our leashes feature adjustable handles that can be handheld or worn around the waist for total versatility. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ La mejor marca *by on Reviewed in Mexico 5 March 2025* Es la mejor marca. *by on Reviewed in the United States 4 May 2026* My dogs measurements:Breed: American Stafforshire TerrierGirth : 27 1/2 inBack: 20 1/2 inNeck: 17 3/4 inForearm: 17 inHind legs: 18 inWeight: 50-55lbsMy dog is very dog aggressive and she shakes so hard that she undos her leash clips! This leash she cannot do because you have to manually lock it. I also like that the clip is shaped differently than a carabiner and on the smaller side. Leash is very lightweight and can hold my dog when she reacts and pulls 60+ lbs of dead weight!!! I also use the Kong Saftey Harness for her in a size medium and have all of the straps at the loosest point and it’s still tight and fits her snug. ## Frequently Bought Together - Ruffwear, Front Range Dog Leash, 5 ft Lead with Padded Handle for Everyday Walking, Basalt Gray - Ruffwear, Front Range Dog Harness, Reflective Soft Padded Everyday Harness with Dual Leash Clips, Adjustable and Lightweight Fit for Training or Walking for All Dogs, Basalt Gray, Medium - Ruffwear, Front Range Dog Collar, Durable and Comfortable Collar for Everyday Use, Basalt Gray, 14"-20" --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.at/products/649194049-ruffwear-front-range-dog-lead-no-pull-1-5m-dog](https://www.desertcart.at/products/649194049-ruffwear-front-range-dog-lead-no-pull-1-5m-dog) --- *Product available on Desertcart Austria* *Store origin: AT* *Last updated: 2026-10-29*
