The alkaline batteries and LS-100D are not offered as a kit from Topcon, if that is what you want you will have to purchase the LS-100D separately. If I were going to do that, I'd consider the Spectra Precision HL-700 instead, nicer laser receiver than the LS-100D for the same price or less. **Q: Should I have been batteries with this package** A: Topcon quit providing the batteries this past summer. **Q: Does it come with aluminum grade rod?** A: Nope you have to buy a grade rod separately **Q: Will the laser function correctly if flipped upside down?** A: It will throw off the balancing mechanism.
