I’m not a huge fashion follower but I always enjoy biographies about interesting people. Alexander McQueen really broke the mould and I was captivated by this from start to finish. It tells his story from a working class London background, low academic achiever but a passion for drawing and design. From a first tentative foot in Savile Row, McQueen went on to become one of the most lauded and controversial designers of the 21 st century. He was a man who had it all; his own label, work with Givenchy and Gucci, money, fame and more. But he was deeply troubled and with compelling insight from those closet to him, we learn what drove him and the demons that hounded him. I was gripped from start to finish. Honest, tragic and one I’ll watch again.
