You could connect to public 5GHz Wi-Fi through Repeater mode and then share the internet to your devices through 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. https://docs.gl-inet.com/en/4/user_guide/gl-a1300/internet/#repeater **Q: In addition to samba (storage) does the usb port support printers?** A: It doesn’t work with USB printer by default. You need to install necessary driver and printer server (cups). **Q: Does this unit do load balancing among multiple carrier hotspots so that a failure of 1 does not lose connection entirely?** A: Yes, you can use multiple interfaces at the same time to increase the total bandwidth of the router. The system will assign interfaces to new connections based on the load ratio. **Q: Can you use this to connect to hotels wifi when it requires you to open a browser and enter your name and email address?** A: I am currently using it in a hotel where I have to login using a password and clicking a t&c’s check box every 24hrs. So I use this product to make my life easier!! after the 24hrs times out the first device that connect to the internet (Amazon echo show for me) automatically opens the hotel landing page and I login and now all my devices can connect to the internet without having to login on every device separately ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Does the VPN stuff really well *by S***I on 28 March 2026* Does the job!!! ### ⭐ Not as Described *by I***. on 17 February 2026* Not as Described Hotel feature in default is and lot of risky network error ### ⭐⭐⭐ Couldn’t make it useful due to speed issue *by S***. on 26 September 2026* Difficult to configure to get optimal speed using mobile hotspot for internet and connecting to home network (to mask IP address from foreign country). I’m a software engineer and I run a home cloud and still couldn’t get more than 4-6mbps using this device even though 5G had 300+mbps and home broadband had upto 90mbps. Tried everything and researched using Gemini but it seems that mobile network MTU size causing packets to drop causing this bottleneck. Could get 50-60mbps just using Tailscale software and an exit node running on a laptop at home. No hardware needed so had to return this. Good build quality/finish and cool looking though. ## Frequently Bought Together - GL.iNet GL-A1300 Pocket VPN Travel Router - Portable Wi-Fi Router for Travel, Easy to Set up, Connect to Public & Hotel Wi-Fi login Page - GL.iNet Gadget Organizer Case for Travel Routers GL-AXT1800/ GL-MT3000/ GL-SFT1200/ GL-E750, Chargers, Cables, and Accessories, Sturdy & Durable Pouch, Hand-carry EVA bag, Anti-shock, Water Resistant - GL.iNet GL-SFT1200 (Opal) Secure Travel WiFi Router, AC1200 Dual Band Gigabit Ethernet Wireless Network, IPv6 USB 2.0, Repeater Bridge Access Point Mode, Router for Public Use, Easy Setup with Guide --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.at/products/657581363-gl-a1300-slate-plus-wireless-vpn-travel-router-dual-band](https://www.desertcart.at/products/657581363-gl-a1300-slate-plus-wireless-vpn-travel-router-dual-band) --- *Product available on Desertcart Austria* *Store origin: AT* *Last updated: 2026-10-29*
