Upon further inspection, the spot where it is faulty and broke is thin and after seeing it now, I can tell how cheap this product is and that it was going to break eventually anyways, because the connection point is so thin and small for one of the most load bearing parts of the boom arm, I am surprised it didn't break sooner. For reference, this boom arm rarely gets moved around, and usually just stays in the same place hovering over my desk, and simply has a Blue Yeti on it. I guess I flubbed my original review when I said it "feels sturdy and of decent quality materials" because looking at the metal along the break, it looks like cheap thin metal just folded into a square rod so it wont bend. It may feel sturdy at first, but the connection points clearly can't hold up to time, even at minimal movement of the boom arm. Updated review (leaving old review up for information purposes): The Company Offered to replace the product, and the replacement seems to hold weight as well as I expect a mic stand to. Will update if anything ever happens to it. Review: Works as intended - 6 years later and it still is standing, and holds tight positioning still. Very good stand ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not bad. *by B***B on January 8, 2021* I read over dozens of reviews before I purchased. There are a few things to note before you buy. - If you own a Blue microphone, you may have problems. This is found in a large amount of reviews. However, this did not apply to me. - I do not doubt this is a repurposed desk lamp arm. I knew it was going to be smaller than the large arms people see streamers using. The total arm length, from base to mic connector, is roughly 29". This is fine with me as I didn't want a large one. I am not a streamer anyway. If you're looking for one those arms, they are usually around $100 or more and designed to hold heavy microphones at greater lengths. - The arm can bear the weight of my microphone, Fifine K678, without droop/sag. Just be very careful tightening the nuts on the arm. They are plastic and will break if over stressed. If you happen to break one, simply visit a hardware store and replace with a nylon locking wing nut. Remember to loosen slightly when repositioning. - My microphone, Fifine K678, comes with an adapter since it uses a very small mounting hole. The provided adapter fit just fine over the standard mounting screw on the arm. I did use the provided tape to secure it better. - The pop filter arm is completely fine. I read many reviews complaining about this. I see the problem they were facing. The arm for the pop filter is screwed into the base (See photos). If you counter-clockwise spin the arm you will loosen it from the base. Thus making it appear useless. A possible solution: Take some very strong adhesive and coat the threads and then screw it back in to the base. Perhaps this is even something the manufacturer could consider. - The mounting base is a standard vice clamp style. This itself is fine. It's how the arm goes into this base is the problem. And the only problem I have encountered. The screw to tighten the arm down does not stop movement. It still rotates or wiggles to a degree (See video). A possible solution: Drill into the arm base, using a pilot bit, a hole the size of the screw. The screw will then go into through the base and then the arm hole preventing any movement. This should have been the design in the first place. For the price, you can't beat it.
