I tried to dive into Astronomia Nova as much as I could by reading Donahue's Selections, Stephenson's Kepler's Physical Astronomy and scans of the original 1609 edition available online (even though I don't read Latin!). So, it was with enormous anticipation that I opened the huge package from desertcart yesterday. I was overjoyed to see that the book lived up to my expectations! It is very faithful to the 1609 edition, stating with the size! It also features all of Kepler's margin annotations in place, large and readable diagrams that are repeated several times so that the reader doesn't have to flip pages when following an explanation, as in the original, and the original diagrams which have meaningful decorations are reproduced as well. So I feel that I can finally access the 1609 edition! Donahue has also added a nice introduction, exploring some historical context and giving a good primer that will help the reader understand Kepler's work. In short, an amazing book!
