This is a handy set to have around. each square is finely ground stainless steel. all have common beam and blade widths and thicknesses which will allow them to be used in combination. 2-Inch 3-Inch 4-Inch & 6-Inch squares.

Review: Woodworker? These are perfect. Machinist? Can't answer. - I'm usually longer winded, but I don't know what else to say -- buy these. The quality against price is an absurd ratio that cannot be competed with. Even factory second sales are wildly more expensive for a set this nice. How square are they? I don't know exactly. But I can tell you that they're at least as square as my Starett combination and double square set. I wish I could recommend these for a machinist, but I simply don't have a mechanism for detecting square at the level a machinist would require/want. My only caution is that these are a bit on the thin side.They're not of the hefty ilk. Not something you want to leave lying around where it could potentially have a force (of some kind) throw it out of square.
Review: Good Value - This square set isn't going to win any beauty prize but they will get the job done. Package arrived as expected with all the signs of economical manufacturing, squares were all wrapped in plastic with a decent coating of protective oil for transportation. At first I was impressed with what I got for the money , 4 sizes of squares in their own storage case. After unwrapping and cleaning them up I was more of "content" with what I got for the money. First thing I checked was the accuracy of the square against a precision setup block and found that pretty accurate. Material used in them is definitely not a selling point, a couple of the squares have inclusions in them the foundry. Over all they will work for the job intended provided your not measuring high precision parts. Bought as an inexpensive tool for the assembly table in our shop where things can take a beating and was not willing to see an expensive precision square hit the concrete floor. My intent is for these squares to have a life expectancy and then be replaced, most likely with the same ones, so for value I'd say these are a hit.

**Q: What is the accuracy of the squares?**
A: I contacted Grizzly about the accuracy, their response: "they are going to be highly accurate and manufactured to DIN 875-1 standards"

Use the "1" column for the specifications. Yes, they are in metric because DIN is the Deutsches Institut für Normung (English: German Institute for Standardization)

**Q: how are the reviewers checking for stainless steel and squareness?**
A: If you have a good flat surface (stone countertop could work, if not a surface plate) you can simply put two squares back-to-back flush against each other, and see if any light appears between the top or bottom of the blades (or anywhere along the middle, if they are not accurately flat). This can be a very sensitive test if all surfaces are accurately flat.  Doing one such comparison only shows that two squares add to 180, not necessarily that each is 90, but you can prove that by comparing each with a third square.

**Q: What is the accuracy of the squares?**
A: I can not give an accuracy measurement as I no longer have access to surface plate and height gage.  However, compared to my other equipment, I would estimate within 0.001" - 0.002" for the 7" square.

**Q: dimensions of each square?**
A: The overall dimensions for each square are as follows:7.25" x 4.25",  5" x 3.25",  4" x 2.75",  3" x 2.25"All three of the smaller squares are made from 0.75" wide material. The large square is made from 1" wide material. Hope this helps.

Was a little surprised at how small these were, but that’s my fault for not fully reading the description. They’re accurate enough for anything I do in my garage workshop and even the smaller ones are good squaring up table/miter saw blades and came in handy when making jewelry boxes for my wife and daughter. I’d guess if you’re into higher end woodworking, furniture making or something that requires high precision accuracy you’d want Starett, but for weekend hobbyists these are pretty darn good.
