Mine came missing one of the two pistons that secures the tool holders, but if you have a lathe (and if you buy this, you probably do) it’s a 2 minute job to make another one. Totally functional, if cosmetically a bit rough. They both use the same cross slide setup **Q: Hi . Is it useful to work on pieces of steel or aluminum that is made very weak? Would you have to look for the same product but be made of steel?** A: yes this will work for steel and other "hard" metals. it's not "industrial " quality but for a home shop it's great. the weak link is the knob on the toolpost it is sort of soft,I recommend replacing it with a grade 8 boly. **Q: Will this work with the wen 3455?** A: It works with the same lathe under a couple different brand names.
