Manage your garden and lawn efficiently. Review: Huge Time Saver for Lawn Care and Composting - The 36‑inch towable compost and peat moss spreader has been a fantastic upgrade for my lawn and garden projects. If you have a medium‑to‑large yard, this tool makes top‑dressing incredibly easy. The wide 36‑inch drum covers a lot of ground quickly, and towing it behind a lawn tractor or ATV keeps the job efficient and surprisingly smooth. The spread pattern is even, and the mesh drum breaks up clumps well, so compost, peat moss, and other fine materials distribute consistently. I’ve used it for overseeding, soil conditioning, and spreading compost over my lawn, and it performs reliably every time. The build quality feels solid — the drum rotates smoothly, and the frame is sturdy enough to handle full loads without flexing. Filling it is straightforward, and the latch system keeps everything secure while moving. Cleanup is also simple, which is a big plus after a long day of yard work. If you’re looking to improve your lawn health or speed up your compost‑spreading routine, this towable spreader is a great investment. It saves time, reduces manual labor, and delivers professional‑looking results. Review: Works Great! Some assembly tips - Well built and works great behind my Lawn Tractor/Mower. Spreads a nice thin layer (Compost with Manure) which provides better material control, particularly when pull behind since one cannot see the dispersing of product. I would recommend this product. As you may have seen from other reviews stating issues with the latches (locking clamps) lining up. This is due to the circular nature of the product with the 4 ARCs and two hinges. Nothing wrong with product so here is a tip that others have also shared. Assembly trip -> do not tighten the screws that hold the ARCs onto the Plates until you have the drum assembled. Slightly snug will be good enough to hold and help align the locking clamps and hinges. Once drum is assembled, (including ARC4) tighten all the screws. STEP 4 of instructions - ARC4 locking clamps Tip -> latch the clamps first. Then one screw of each hinge alternating the hinge. This will help in the alignment before you tighten all the screws and allows "nudging" here or there to align the hinge holes. STEP 5 of instructions: The "Y" shape connection will be a little lose even after inserting and tightening the bolts. At first I thought this to be a problem but actually helps when making turns and allows drum to maintain contact with ground. If it were rigid, bumps would affect the drums performance in distributing product. Not sure if by design but works like it was. Note: The wire stands have been replaced with "cardboard" ones that look like packing material, beware of discarding when unpacking. Look for the instructions, there is an insert (at least in my shipment) that explains the "New Stand". Happy spreading! ... or is that Spreading Happy? ;) ## Features - 【Effortless Compost Spreading】: Garden Tailor’s compost spreader reduces topdressing time by 75%, cuts compost use by 30%,and eases back strain versus traditional methods; Ensures even distribution of compost, manure, dirt, and topsoil for vibrant lawns - 【Friendly Assembly】: Garden Tailor’s proprietary supports ensure a quick 15-minute setup with hassle-easy installation for all ages; The peat moss spreader features side latches for smooth, damage-easy operation on slopes and uneven surfaces - 【Towable】:Our compost spreader for lawn features an upgraded handle that supports both tractor/lawnmower towing and manual pushing, meeting a variety of fertilization needs - 【Efficient - Simple】: Our lawn spreader features a metal mesh basket to crush clumps and separate large pieces while rolling, even distribution; Rust-resistant with heat-treated, powder-coated materials and mesh size (1/2" x 3/4") for efficient lawn care - 【Exceptional After-Sales】: We focus on your well-being with prompt solutions and long-lasting replacements for your compost spreader, giving you peace of mind; Our team provides assembly guidance, troubleshooting, and replacement parts ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Product Dimensions | 91.44 x 39.88 x 132.08 cm; 14.29 kg | | Part number | 36 Inch | | Power source type | manual | | Manufacturer | Garden Tailor | | Item model number | 36 Inch | | ASIN | B0DGB2KGQY | ## Images ![Compost Spreader 36 Inch Towable Peat Moss Spreader with Installation Support Accessories, Metal Mesh Roller Lawn Spreader for Top Soil, Manure, Mulch, Top Dressing - spreaders for lawns - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/719Iv5LEf9L.jpg) ![Compost Spreader 36 Inch Towable Peat Moss Spreader with Installation Support Accessories, Metal Mesh Roller Lawn Spreader for Top Soil, Manure, Mulch, Top Dressing - spreaders for lawns - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81za+aIZJzL.jpg) ![Compost Spreader 36 Inch Towable Peat Moss Spreader with Installation Support Accessories, Metal Mesh Roller Lawn Spreader for Top Soil, Manure, Mulch, Top Dressing - spreaders for lawns - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81YR+UaMqEL.jpg) ![Compost Spreader 36 Inch Towable Peat Moss Spreader with Installation Support Accessories, Metal Mesh Roller Lawn Spreader for Top Soil, Manure, Mulch, Top Dressing - spreaders for lawns - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/91J1LdoUUtL.jpg) ![Compost Spreader 36 Inch Towable Peat Moss Spreader with Installation Support Accessories, Metal Mesh Roller Lawn Spreader for Top Soil, Manure, Mulch, Top Dressing - spreaders for lawns - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81bkPTbsdaL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Huge Time Saver for Lawn Care and Composting *by M***W on 4 May 2026* The 36‑inch towable compost and peat moss spreader has been a fantastic upgrade for my lawn and garden projects. I started to put it together which was a little difficult then I found out that they had not drilled a hole where they need to drill a hole for a cotter pin to go through. I have emailed back and forth with whoever is putting to this stuff together. I've sent them a video of what is wrong and they're constantly asking me for a number that Amazon doesn't give us. So they don't show that I bought it from Amazon even though I have it being delivered to my house and paid for. Their customer service absolutely sucks. I would not recommend buying this from them because it's been almost 2 weeks since they have emailed me back. I've also tried to get a different one sent and I would send that one back but they won't do that either.
