I went with the individual pieces over the type mounted on a board. Figured it might be easier. Not sure. As you see from the pictures, these are resting in a well marked foam insert in a very flimsy case. Probably the cheapest case I have ever gotten from an Amazon purchase, and that's why it got a 4 star review. The thread checkers are made from aluminum, anodized and screen printed with the size of the threads. They seem to be well made and certainly inexpensive given the price. Good spread of sizes as well including many on the smaller size.
