We will need it to hold some heavy steel mounting parts.** A: I’m not sure about a maximum weight, but one of the strap buckles broke quite early on mine. But I repaired and shored up the strap with a couple of sturdy cable ties and the bag, which I like a lot, has served me very well. **Q: Does this bag fit a laptop?** A: Yes - its a good sized bag- you will have to arrange things to allow for it but Lap Dog will fit inside. **Q: Does the bag have a solid base** A: Ita solid enough, hard plastic I think, I've spilled hot water from a flask a few times into it as i use it as a lunch bag and it hasn't damaged it at all, unlike other bags with a hard cardboard base, this one is great.
