Review: Used to chisel square holes - If anybody ends up looking for a way to drill square holes, these work. I made a jig that held it where I needed it, then drilled down using this bit. Then took the bit out of the square chisel and just used a hammer to pound the chisel portion into the wood, it made a perfectly square hole. You then have to use a standard chisel to clean it up a bit since it won't make the bottom of the hole square. Hope this helps someone else. I used it to make square holes in steps for cast iron balusters. They look great. This way I didn't have to use those ugly shoes at the bottom. For the price it was worth it. Even if it would be useless after this one project, it was cheaper than the shoes would have been, but the tool is still good and can be used the next time I need a square hole.

A: 3/4" I returned them because I needed 5/8

A: They attach to a device that bolts to your drill press.

A: Hola, el kit contiene las brocas con el cuadrante de la misma broca (mecha cuadrada). La base del adaptador no lo compré y, creo que lo podré construir con platinas aceradas. Espero que no sea tan difícil, cuando lo termine les estaré contando como me fue.

**Q: I see people mention wrong shank size. Will these fit a craftsman drill press?**
A: It should.  Don't have a Craftsman drill press, but I thought that all drill presses had adjustable chucks.  These bits are designed to be used with drill presses, so I can't imagine that Craftsman would let you down here.  Your drill chuck may use a key to open and close it to your desired size.  As with any specialty bit, be gentle & never force the bit.  Insert it into the wood a short depth and pull it out frequently to allow the wood chips an escape so they don't get packed in too tightly and overheat the bit.  I presume you are working with wood.  I don't think these would fare well with metals.   Mortising can be an art form.  Enjoy them & make them last. They are a nice set.
