It simply didn't work and I couldn't bring it into focus. The second upgrade I got from the UK - Torch Upgrades and it did come with a retaining and expressly says that it is for the 2 pin xenon bulb. That upgrade worked very well. I was so happy that I have since ordered 2 more upgrades. My first upgrade was a 2 D cell Maglite. My next 2 orders were for the 4 D cell Maglites. These are unbelievably brighter than the original 2 pin xenon bulbs. The price is around 20 dollar including the shipping from the UK but well worth the price **Q: Will this fit into a Mag-lite 2d that has the old style bulb?** A: Thanks for your message. I've had this flashlight for 18 years... time to update but no need to add to the landfill so I changed my old bulb to the LED version for my Mag-lite. NIGHT & DAY, the new bulb is bright, clear and extends more than my old bulb I had. Even though I could have gotten a flashlight close to the price I paid, I only needed a bulb. So, didn't waste the material (deposing a full flashlight) and re-ordered a new bulb to upgrade my flashlight.
