It took a LOT of research to find out that the most common low carb bar/sweets/chocoloate sweetener Maltitol raises the blood sugar and is 52 on the glycemic index. Many companies claim you can deduct the polyols from the carb, producing net carb of a low amount, but this is untrue - in fact, it's the reason bars like Atkins kick people out of ketosis. Also, with a glycemic index of 52, you might as well have sugar!The Adonis bars uses Erythritol, which is natural (which many are) but also do not raise the blood sugar or have any effect. As many have stated on here, great for those on a real low carb diet who want to stay in Ketosis. The bars are also packed full of nuts and seeds (makes you fuller) plus gets some sweetness from natural ingredients like a small amount of berries.Bars like Nakd and Atkins/Grenade are packed with maltitol which in turn are carbs so much much higher % than stated on the ingredient list. Nakd bars are so high in sugar from the 50%+ amount of sugar laden dried dates you might as well have a Kit Kat! (yes Nakd are 'healthier' but not in terms of sugar content).These Adonis bars are delicious and balanced, hope the price goes down at some point, but quality is worth every penny. Yum. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great taste combinations *by M***. on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 26 February 2019* Initially doubted the flavours, but even our picky kids enjoyed all three bars, even "tumeric, orange and Brazil nut" !! Word of advice: don't leave the bars at the bottom of your backpack, since there are no added sugars to hold them together, they crumble to small bits inside the package. Most of the others I have had have been excessively sweet artificially but these are not. These bars are tasty and a worthwhile snack. I just wish that I could by them in bigger boxes to keep the cost down as, at 1.70 a bar, they are too expensive for everyday. Personally, the Turmeric (Yellow) bars were not as good as the others.
