Includes: Aretha Franklin, Fifth Dimension, Lovin' Spoonful, Johnny Cash, Santana, The Byrds, Moody Blues, Del Shannon, Andy Williams, Harry Nilsson, Sly & The Family Stone, Tony Bennett, Tammy Wynette and many more. Review: A great collection! Includes seventy Top 40 Billboard (USA) Hits! - If you’re into oldies collections, this is a fantastic bargain! At least one reviewer here claimed that there aren’t enough hits, or that there are too many cover versions or remakes. Don’t believe it. There are a staggering 70 Top 40 Billboard (USA) hits in this collection! Yes, seventy! That number includes 51 Top 10 hits as well as 19 #1 hits! Disc 2 alone has 17 Top 10 hits! And that’s not to say that the rest of the songs aren’t any good. A few were hits in the U.K. and some, such as Kris Kristofferson’s version of Sunday Morning Comin’ Down (which he wrote), are just very good songs, regardless of their lack of success on the Billboard charts. As for cover version and remakes, that might be a reference to songs like Jose Feliciano’s version of the Doors song, Light My Fire. Feliciano’s version reached #3 in 1968, a year after the Doors topped the charts with it. Another example might be You Were on My Mind by Crispian St. Peters, which reached #36 two years after We Five had a #3 hit with it. These were legitimate Top 40 hits in their own right. Also included is Piece of My Heart by Erma Franklin (Aretha’s sister), which charted in the Top 100 (#62) in 1967, and even though most people are more familiar with Janis Joplin’s #12 hit, her version didn’t enter the Billboard charts until almost a year after Franklin’s. So it was Joplin who actually had the cover version! At any rate, as far as I can tell, I think these are all original recordings and the sound quality is very good compared to other releases I’ve heard. I paid $8.99 for this collection. As of today, I see it’s going for $11.99. But where else can you get seventy Top 40 hits for that price? Will you like every song? Probably not, but even if you only like 1 in 5, it’s still a pretty good deal. Personally, I think this set would be a steal at double the price! Review: I ordered this from RAREWAVES.com, Ltd. - MOST helpful comment I can make is: Look at the color-adjusted CD's song-listing! 1.) Original recordings. 2.) Original artists. 3.) IF you were in school during the '60s, you'll recognize songs you've not heard in years. 4.) I certainly WASN'T expecting S0Oo many songs I recognized/ liked, and for less than $13 ! 5.) The shipping was inexpensive, considering it's sent from Great Britain. 6.) I live in Germany, and got this nine-days ahead of schedule. 7. MY favorite artists' songs include, but, not limited to: THE BYRDS; LOVIN' SPOONFUL; THE BOX TOPS; GUESS WHO; YARDBIRDS; FLEETWOOD MAC; SANTANA; PAUL REVERE & THE RAIDERS; BIG BROTHER & THE HOLDING COMPANY featuring Janis Joplin; BOBBY DARIN; DEL SHANNON; THE ARCHIES; 1910 FRUITGUM COMPANY; OHIO EXPRESS; GARY PUCKETT & THE UNION GAP; BLOOD SWEAT & TEARS; BOBBY VINTON; NEIL SEDAKA; LEE DORSEY; THE TOKENS; LOU CHRISTIE; SLY & THE FAMILY STONE; DELFONICS; 5th DIMENSION; ARETHA FRANKLIN; JOHNNY NASH; HARRY NILSSON; ISLEY BROTHERS; DOBIE GRAY; José Feliciano; PERCY FAITH ORCHESTRA; HENRY MANCINI; DAVE BRUBECK QUARTET; RAMSEY LEWIS; JOHNNY CASH; JIM REEVES; ANDY WILLIAMS; TONY BENNETT; DUANE EDDY;JIMMY DEAN; JOHNNY MATHIS; PERRY COMO; TAMMY WYNETTE; HUGO MONTENEGRO' ORCHESTRA; STATLER Bros.; MARTY ROBBINS. Many others that I know but assume if you aren't MY AGE, YOU'D n-o-t KNOW. __________________________________________________________________ I AM VERY PLEASED, AND WILL ORDER SOME OF THEIR COMPILATIONS! ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B07667VPNB | | Best Sellers Rank | #103,236 in CDs & Vinyl ( See Top 100 in CDs & Vinyl ) #47,767 in Pop (CDs & Vinyl) | | Customer Reviews | 4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars (2,163) | | Date First Available | October 7, 2017 | | Label | 100 Hits | | Manufacturer | 100 Hits | | Number of discs | 5 | | Original Release Date | 2017 | | Product Dimensions | 5.83 x 4.96 x 0.59 inches; 4.66 ounces | ## Images ![100 Hits: The Best 60s / Various - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71ZlOfwMARL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A great collection! Examples: During a guitar solo, by Carlos Santana, the song fades, but way too early, during his guitar solo. 2. In the smash hit, by Zaeger and Evans, " In the Year 2525", near the end, it cuts off during actual lyrics. And most others too . Imports are rarely good. 2. They are the original recordings, but you will hear one song in mono, the next in a much higher volume, etc. 3. There are quite a few non hits, and songs not rock or pop, but that's to be expected in a low price CD. In a compilation, I need to recognize the song within two measures, and about 35% I couldn't recognize, whereas hits, I know 100% from this era. There was one song though, that I have not heard in 35 years, a real nice flash- " Flowers on the Wall" by the Statler Brothers, a nice little ditty. Be honest, how many of you remember that one? --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.at/products/70394919-100-hits-the-best-60s-various](https://www.desertcart.at/products/70394919-100-hits-the-best-60s-various) --- *Product available on Desertcart Austria* *Store origin: AT* *Last updated: 2026-10-10*
