I needed it on a thick piece of wood so I could put the wood in the back of my car and have my DJ equipment slide on the wood easily. It turned the wood literally into glass and it dried very quickly. This is impressive stuff. I didn’t even know this kind of thing existed. Review: Want to spray a guitar?? Do it! - I have used this on 3 guitars, and with each one I get a little better putting it on and getting better results. I actually had a couple runs in the first guitar, yikes, but all my fault. Put it on thick enough to look glossy and no more. But I was able to sand it out a couple days later and spray again. I put about 20 total coats on my guitars, sanding every few to smooth out the orange peel. The finished results look very great all the flaws were my own doing, not the product. It goes on consistent and smooth. I'd recommend warming the can in some warm water before using, it seems to spray smoother that way. After the last coat, sanding with paper right up to 2000 grit (automotive stores!) and a polishing compound to finish. This product can give you some awesome results!! Remember this is a nitrocellulose lacquer so you can't put your guitar in a regular guitar stand with the foam on the arms. The foam is petroleum based and will slowly react with the finish, dulling it or softening it. It can get pretty ugly if your guitar sits against the foam. Also be very mindful of the fumes as another guy pointed out. They are VERY strong for a DIY product. **Q: Can i use this on fake leather?** A: I can’t answer that for you but personally I would not use it on fake leather. I’ve used the spray for mostly wood projects, ceramic,cement, and resin objects. **Q: What thinner to use for spraying? Thanks** A: I have not sprayed this product, but generic Lacquer Thinner, available from any home improvement store works great for thinning and cleanup. The can says that you shouldnt spray this product, but I assume that is for liability, not that it won't work. **Q: Will this help preserve and older piece of indoor wicker?** A: I assume cuz you didn't say, the piece is a natural finish wicker, that is it doesn't a finish on it. This is material is likely going to soak up the clear stain like a sponge! It's not going to put a shiny, colored finish on it though. If it were me, I'd likely try spraying it on inside of a leg or the bottom of the seat just to make sure 1. there's no stain on there that is no real evident that will "craze" or wrinkle up cuz this is lacquer and 2. to see how "thirsty" the wicker is.
