## Description

The TuffBlock Instant Foundation System is a lightweight deck foundation alternative to concrete. It consists of multiple floating deck blocks that sit on top of the ground and accept pieces of wood to construct decks, garden sheds, landings, pathways, raised walkways, cubby houses, dog shelters and more. Each TuffBlock can support up to 1,700 pounds and weighs only 1.5 pounds. They are designed to accept 1/2"-2" joists and bearers, 2x4, 2x6, 2x8 Joists, and 4x4 Posts. The TuffBlock system is unique because it allows you to build a deck that is as low as 6.5 inches off the ground, with no digging. The TuffBlock’s are made from recycled polyolefin material with an ultra-high UV rating. The TuffBlock system is the only block product that can be secured to the post or bearer to provide extra stability.

Review: Great block support, surpasses all others. - Always a go to for building sheds, decks, and other things. Waaaaaaay better than other products on here when it comes to durability, quality control, and fitment. Furthermore, you can buy these individually at Lowe's if you need more.
Review: Very easy to use - I built a front porch using pressure treated wood with trex slats to cover an existing cement stoop. I enlarged the stoop from 6x4' to 12x8' and used the tuffblocks on the outer corners. As others have said, you can't butt them directly against walls, but I don't know that it matters. Decking can have an overhang past the frame, which is what I did to make the porch flush with the house. They don't fit the 4x4" tightly, which is good. I was concerned that after leveling the tuffblocks, I'd have a hard time pulling out the 4x4 to make any adjustments. I am slightly concerned about a frost heave, but since this is a floating deck, it won't cause any damage if it slightly lifts in the front. Our winters are also mild. The reason I used these as opposed to digging footers is because we have a sewer access pipe to the left of the porch and we've been unable to get a clear answer as to where that pipe is under the ground. It was safer to keep everything above ground when working so close to that pipe. Now, having completed the project, if it holds up I'll be extremely pleased. Not having to dig holes and pour concrete saved me at least a day of labor. Since buying these on desertcart, they have become readily available in big box hardware stores and cost $9 each. Just a head's up that this is likely not the best deal you can get.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can these be mounted right onto a wooden deck?**
A: I dont understand the question. Why do you want to put them on a deck? They are supposed to be used to hold the deck support legs? They dont have any pre cut holes in them for bolts or screws.  The plastic might split if you drilled into it.

**Q: Can these be anchored to a concrete pad? I'm building a shed on a concrete pad and want to make sure they don't move.**
A: You don't need these if you already have a concrete pad. They are meant for on grade use ( on soil )

**Q: what is the height of these?**
A: All dimensions can be found in a nice diagram on their website.

**Q: Looking to use these for a small covered "lean-to"  how tall of a 4x4 post can these hold?**
A: The actual square the 4x4 goes in does not hold the post firmly. When youblet go of the post it will tilt. The upright post must be supported by lateral posts. This can be tricky if you are building alone! If your question is actually related to the weight of your project i think that info should be in the TuffBlock specifucations page.
