Problem 1: The ground connection on the female side of the item is open and Not connected to any ground. This results in an open ground receptacle. You think you have a good, grounded receptacle, but you DO NOT. Again, it is an OPEN GROUND and dangerous to use. The item is not safety tested by UL, and not UL Listed. Problem2: The hot and neutral may be reversed! IMPORTANT: The lamp socket you screw this item into has NO ground connection, and the item itself has NO ground connection on the male screw end. Again, immediately return this item and do not use it! Especially if the item you are plugging into this adaptor requires a ground connection. I am a retired Electrical Engineer with an MS degree and experience in the power electrical field for many many years. **Q: The 3rd (D-shaped) hole implies 3 prong plugs are safely connected to house ground. How since the bulb socket only connects to hot and neutral?** A: It isn't grounded. It just lets you use some plugs that don't really need the 3rd wire. **Q: Is it Safe to plug in oil radiator heater with electric plug** A: I don't think it would be wise to plug in any high wattage item as the ground is just to be able to plug a 3-pronged plug in. It isn't actually grounded. The wiring on the inside also doesn't look to be designed for high wattage. **Q: How is this able to provide a ground for the 3 prong? I thought the bulb socket was only a black hot line and a white neutral.** A: If the fixture that the bulb is getting screwed into is grounded, then this would be grounded.
