Protection afforded is good; you obviously can’t drive a tank over it, or throw it into the ocean, but otherwise it should guard against everyday knocks, bumps and scrapes. A cursory look at the price of generic cases of this style on Amazon shows that it is decent value. I wondered if I would regret springing for it, but I don’t. I can see why they do not include it with the gimbal, not everyone needs it, but if you do want a case it is perfect and fairly priced. It allows you to keep the gimbal together with all of its accessories, with a handy pocket in the lid for cables etc., yet remains suitably compact and commensurate with the ‘go everywhere’ ethos of the gimbal itself. Buy from here (Amazon) rather than directly from Insta360’s own web store because their customer service and returns policy are atrocious.
