Instead of searching for a road shifter to do the job, I decided to embrace old school aesthetic and go with friction. This little shifter is great. It ratchets down and smoothly shifts back up. No more chain grinding, just smooth shifting. The mount is nicer than other budget friction shifters too. I like how it shifts and I like how it looks. The rubber is a bit clunky and hard, but it's my front derailleur and I only shift out of my top ring for hills. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Shifter To short of a cable *by H***. on May 25, 2021* I have switched both our Trikes to use this friction shifter to shift the crankset, much easier to control, solves a lot of problems with shifting wish I would have switched when we were riding bikes. The included cable is to short so I had to use 1 that I had. Not sure if even on a bike if the cable would be longer. at least 3 foot shorter than standard cable.
