Thanks.** A: That is exactly how I am using these door stops throughout my new house. The Blomus door stop is far easier to clean than the spring-type stops, too. **Q: How high off the floor is the bottom and top of the black rubber ring? My door has a 1-5/8" gap at the bottom.** A: 1/2 and 1 5/8 however I believe there are stops that have greater overall height than the units we purchased **Q: How tall is the doorstop?** A: Mine is 3" or 7.5 cm tall. **Q: Can it be install on self advice tape ?** A: Probably not, this isn't meant to be installed. It has a rubber base that provides friction to a tile/wood/laminate floor and is pretty heavy as it is a solid chunk of metal underneath the black band you see in the provided picture. It is appropriately heavy enough to keep an average weight solid core wooden door in place. It has rubber on the sides (all around) as well as on the bottom. These elements are quite functional in helping it to "stick" where you put it as well as providing a non-marring surface against which the door can rest. I like it because it's functional and stylish and pleasant to look at. The cylindrical design makes it functional from all angles so it's easy and effortless to reposition with your foot. Perhaps it's more money than many would choose to pay for a door stop but I have found it satisfying and attractive to use and the quality of the materials and construction is top notch. They are dual purpose and be used to keep a door open instead or with 2, semi-open (1 on each side of the door). They have a somewhat industrial look to them, which may or may not go with your decor. When I peeled it off, it left a residue that was difficult to remove. I didn't think much of it, until it started leaving streaks of gooey adhesive on my tile.
