**Q: For birding, would you recommend 10x50 or 12x50?**
A: For general birding (little birds as well as big birds) 10x50, or even the 8x42. Often when you're birding you're trying to get a bead on a small, active bird with your binoculars, so the field of view (the amount of area you see through your binos) is nearly as important if not just as important as the magnification, and typically the higher you go in magnification, the narrower the field of view. The field of view for the 12x50s is 288', and for the 10x50s it's 346'. I personally use a pair of 8x42s.

**Q: does this come with the glasspak?**
A: Yes mine did come with the Glasspak

**Q: Where are these made?**
A: These are made in the Philippines.I can say this too,crystal clear from close up to way out there.I think they’re great and they don’t kill your wallet either

**Q: Do the 10x42 vipers come with lens caps?**
A: Yes that do. They are joined in the middle and you can attach to your strap otherwise you would loose them

Perfect midsize and weight binoculars giving a clear, sharp and bright view with accurate, untainted colour. I had been using x8 Vortex binoculars, worrying the x12 would give too much image shake. I was wrong, the x12 are perfect and I don't use the x8 now. The Diopter adjustment allows you to perfectly balance each eyepiece with each eye for perfect stereoscopic imaging giving excellent depth. Perfect for spotting wildlife for photography which is my use - scan, spot, switch to the camera. The lens and eyecup covers, along with the rubber coating and padded binocular case are perfect for tossing into a backpack for hiking or cycling - rugged build and perfect glass protection in rough conditions. The rubber coating also helps stabilise the view, leaning against a tree or pushed up onto a cyclone fence without slipping or damage giving a rock solid view.
