The fabric is very thin but it's OK: no fabric on its own will filter fine particles of dust, let alone viruses - you need at least three layers if you get the fight filter material, more if you use only fabric! This material is only good as the outer, decorative layer.I wasn't that keen on some of the colours but I surprised myself for liking most of them so much that I am ordering another set for making a cushion cover - to go over a pillow protector.
