On first use, I was a little alarmed. The d-pad clicks at each of the 8 direction points to register a press, and I couldn't pull off a dragon punch at all. It took a while, but now I'd say I can do them with the same (if not slightly better) regularity as an analogue stick (3 out 4). Other actions are much easier, though 180s also took a bit of getting used to. Basically, give it some time. It's different to other controllers so first use impressions perhaps aren't the best.
