My finger sliding down the rail hit it and broke the original off. Of course I had a bloody finger for a while, but the railing as you walked up the stairs would fail midway up on where I broke the unit.). I thought I'd never find it, but was shocked by just putting in a quick search and finding it. I got it and replaced it immediately. Heck it's thicker and stronger than the original, and yet, fit exactly in the same holes in the wood designer blocks on the wall, and underneath the railing where the catch goes. Very impressed.
