Unfortunately the DPad is too stiff and feels mushy. I wanted this kit specifically for the DPad replacement because most SNES controllers I have used have unusably mushy DPads from use over the years. Another minor annoyance that I have is that the Start and Select buttons are not the right color. However the quality of the DPAD and Shoulder buttons are very squishy. The shoulder pads are usable but not nearly as pleasing as the OEM, but still usable. The pad for the DPAD is so squishy that its nearly unusable thought. Diagonal presses on the DPAD with this pad is extremely lack luster and very hard to feel with your hand. Overall I'd say the start/select buttons are passable, the xyab buttons are okay, the shoulder buttons are lacking, and the dpad is bad. Before you spend money on another controller that likely has the same problem, consider opening up your controller and replacing the silicone pads instead. You see, these pads are what press down on the controller's circuit board every time you press a button, so over time they become worn out from being pushed down on for so many gaming sessions. Replacing them is simple, even if you aren't used to refurbishing electronics, so it's an easy and effective way to make your old gamepad feel new again.So why did I knock a star off? A minor setback, really. These are a tad thicker than the original, and as such the d-pad silicone feels a little too stiff. It could just be from being brand new, since I just replaced the pads on the same day of this review, and probably will loosen up after a bit more use.
