However, two fundamental performance issues severely compromise its usability, especially for serious note-takers.👍 What I Like:Superb Handwriting Feel: The core writing experience in the native Notes app is fantastic—smooth and responsive.Portability & Design: The device is lightweight and perfectly sized for a 7-inch E-Ink tablet.Battery Life (while awake): Battery life during active reading/writing is generally good.❌ Critical Issues:Major System Navigation Flaw (The Deal-Breaker): This is the most serious issue. While writing in the Notes app, the device frequently registers my resting palm/hand as a navigation command (such as a swipe or gesture), causing the app to unexpectedly exit to the Home Screen or switch to an adjacent note. I have tried all available settings, including enabling the exit confirmation prompt, but the problem persists. This bug makes comfortable, uninterrupted note-taking extremely difficult and frustrating.Slow Boot-Up Time (A Major inconvenience): When the device is completely powered off (Auto Power Off), the time it takes to boot up again is excessively long—slow enough to be a significant barrier to quick use. To avoid this long wait, I must increase the 'Auto Power Off' duration, which results in unnecessary battery drain while the device sits idle.Final Verdict:The Onyx Boox Go Color 7 (GEN II) fails at the most basic level of user experience: reliable, non-interrupting input and fast startup.
