I used the company's web flasher to reflash the firmware to be a router instead of a coordinator and then added it to my zigbee network. It was a pretty easy process. I have this plugged into a surge protector that has a USBA port on it, in an area where I don't have many routers but a lot of end devices. I had a device that would not respond often before adding this, but now the device has been very responsive. The only entities this exposes is transmit power (-20dBm to 20dBm).
