My wife and I work together, she on the short pull piston and I on the long pull (hardest). I am 83 years old and had a reverse shoulder replacement in September 2016 and split more than a cord of stove wood in April. You do have to mount it firmly on 2 X 4's to keep it stable while operating on large logs at its limit. You pull the handles and the jack goes higher. After you break a log, you retract the jack by releasing the valve. Then start all over on the next log.
