I was not going to get it and at the last minute changed my mind. SO glad I did! It truly made my daughter so happy. She loves having her own private journal and has so much fun changing the password and setting funny messages for when her older sister tries to access it. It was by far her favorite gift. In terms of function, it is easy enough for the 7 year old to operate and change the messages on her own.
