I used Ford part JL3Z-2C006-AA (approx. $100). After a simple install of the hardware I had to get the truck programmed for the brake controller to work - option 1 take it to dealer for programming, cost would of been $50. Option 2 use FORScan (google it) and purchase this adapter. The adapter worked flawlessly after using the included disc to install the proper drivers. FORScan was able to quickly see the adapter and communicate to my vehicle. I backed up all the modules FORScan found and then found the IPC module and made the necessary changes and had the brake controller working in a few minutes. I was able to save over $200 by installing and programming myself vs the local dealer. This is a $295 option if included on a new truck like mine. Awesome product at a very fair price. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works as its supposed to *by P***. on January 6, 2019* The CD is useless as newer computers don't have drives an the only CD drive I do have doesn't accept the mini format. FYI if you are using this for forscan with a mac I was only able to get it to work with the crossover app. I think to get it to work with VMWare Fusion a Mac Driver is needed to properly detect it to allow the VM to connect.
